We at Samvaad are a group of committed Speech Therapists, and Behavior Analysts, focused on making a difference in the lives of people to be able to communicate. Radhika Poovayya who heads the team, under whom senior therapists supervise the implementation of the treatment through the junior therapists. With guidance, the therapists are trained well and constantly monitored as they undertake the therapy program of each child.

Samvaad includes the parents in all the sessions to empower them to practice the strategies in the home environment. We provide quality therapy to the individuals so as to facilitate their integration into society. Samvaad has earned a name as a reputable therapy centre.

The Backbone of Samvaad Meet Radhika

Radhika is the Founder/Director of Samvaad therapy centers and Samvaad Institute of Speech & Hearing. She is a Speech Language Pathologist and US Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 30 years of experience in the field. Her areas of expertise include clients with stammering, aphasia and clarity issues in speech and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism and behavior problems.

Her journey with ABA began in 2003 when she realised that the traditional Speech Therapy approach for children with autism had limited results. Coincidentally, one of the children’s parents introduced her to ABA and invited her to a conference in Chennai. This prompted her to pursue a Master’s to become India’s first speech language pathologist to have a dual degree in speech pathology and behavior analysis.

Radhika has trained her Speech Pathology students and mentored them in ABA which has helped in spreading awareness of ABA. Samvaad organised the first conference on ABA in 2008 in Bangalore. Today, Bangalore has the most number of Behavior Analysts in India.

Samvaad Institute of Speech and Hearing is our academic arm and has been a successful endeavour since 2005. It is affiliated to Bangalore University and offers graduate and post-graduate courses in speech pathology.
