Voice disorders

Abstract – a software engineer with a feminine voice

Coming from a small town in Madhya Pradesh, Harsha was excited to get a job in an MNC in Bangalore. Although speaking over the phone started becoming uncomfortable as people started addressing him as ‘Madam.’ His confidence started dropping as he suddenly became aware that he had an issue with his voice. Within a week, he corrected his voice, and eventually, the low-pitched voice became stable and restored his confidence.

Takeaway Note

Harsha’s voice problem is called Puberphonia. This voice disorder is not associated with any weakness , it’s due to a faulty vocal cord vibration which responds easily to therapy.
